12 - 13 August 2021
Virtual Conference
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS EVENT
In light of Monday's lockdown extension announcement for the 11 Queensland LGAs, ACHPER QLD has taken the decision to move the Secondary HPE Conference to an online platform. This virtual event will deliver the same conference program as planned with the exception of the practical sessions. Each breakout session will feature four options to choose from. See the program tab below for more details.
Details for participation will be emailed to delegates at the end of this week.
The ACHPER QLD Board and Team thank you for your continued support and we look forward to delivering an inspiring and productive two days of learning.
At this engaging two-day event, you'll have opportunities to network, access latest pedagogy (and tasty lunches), and participate in continuing education. Whether you are an early career teacher or experienced educator, it's an event you won't want to miss! See below for this year's conference program and session details. There will be a mixture of classroom presentations, workshops and plenary sessions - many delivered by practicing HPE teachers. Continued emphasis will be placed on the new Australian Curriculum Health and Physical Education AC:HPE and Senior Health and Senior Physical Education Syllabuses.
In 2021, places will be strictly limited to 250. Please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING
ACHPER QLD is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Queensland. We are committed to running the Secondary HPE Conference as a face-to-face event as we understand the value for teachers in networking and sharing their knowledge with others.
In the event of a last minute COVID-19 shutdown in Brisbane we have plans in place to move the delivery of the conference program online. The decision to deliver the conference online can be made as late as Monday 10 August.
If for any reason you, or your school, are not comfortable with the possibility of the Secondary HPE Conference moving online at the last moment, ACHPER QLD will refund (or cancel) any registrations already made.
Please email [email protected] by Friday 30 July to request a refund or cancellation. Any requests made past this date will not be refunded.
If the conference does go online we are unable to provide any discounts, as the last minute online costs are roughly equal to any costs that ACHPER QLD incurs from running a face to face event.
Further updates will be sent over the next two weeks to advise delegates of the COVID-19 protocols to be followed throughout the conference.
The ACHPER QLD Team.
