What is a Masterclass and how is it different to other workshops that ACHPER QLD offers?
During the first half of the day, an expert in the subject matter provides in-depth sessions with the latest research and applications in the community. The expert is usually a university researcher/lecturer, a well respected private practitioner or representatives from specialist government agencies.
The second half of the day involves group work for teachers to discuss the implications for implementation within their school and sharing of ideas and reflections about how best to apply the knowledge gained.
To ensure the quality of the Masterclass and the ability to interact with the Master Presenter numbers are strictly limited. Registration cost is $220. Place will not be secured unless payment has been received in full.
There’s nothing ACHPER QLD wants more than to get back to running face to face professional learning events, however after careful consideration we have prioritised safety and certainty and reached a decision to deliver the upcoming Masterclasses virtually. Lockdowns and changing density limits create significant challenges for planning events, and the health and wellbeing of our HPE teaching community remains our highest priority. We want to provide certainty to teachers, schools and presenters in these uncertain times.
By making this decision early, rather than being forced to make last minute changes, we have time to prepare presenters, set up an engaging day that gets the best out of the online platform and can allow for recordings.
We will be using Spatial Chat which was used successfully for the recent Primary Online event. This platform allows for interactive group work as well as the traditional lecture style format and is the closest delegates can get to replicating face to face interaction.
