This online workshop aims to provide teachers with the foundations and a greater understanding of the overarching approaches, frameworks and resources of Senior Health.
It is aimed at those teachers new to the subject as well as teachers returning to the subject after a break or have taught for a little while but wanted to build their confidence in the subject.

Presenters
Carolyn Jones, QCAA
Carolyn is a Principal Education Officer at the QCAA in the Health, Physical Education (HPE)/Technologies learning area. She led an Expert Writing Team in the development of the QCE 2019 Health General Syllabus, Syllabus Implementation Workshops, and resources to support implementation. Carolyn has previously written HPE curriculum in Tasmania K-10 and 11/12 and was Chief Marking and Setting Examiner for the Tasmanian Health Studies external assessment. Carolyn has taught in Queensland since 2004 and wrote the Health Education work program at Helensvale SHS before modifying and implementing it in the United Arab Emirates when working for three years at the Australian International School.
Georgina Amos, Cavendish Road State High School
Georgina has been teaching Health since 2016 at Cavendish Road SHS. During this time, she has been involved heavily with rolling out the new syllabus into the school's senior program and has engaged in the external marking process with QCAA. She is passionate about the subject due to the relevance of the topics that are presented each year and enjoys observing student growth through their health journey.
Dr. Hugh Shannon, Queensland University of Technology.
Hugh is a Senior Lecturer in Health and Physical Education at Queensland University of Technology. He has school teaching and leadership experience in HPE, Senior Health, Senior Physical Education and Science. Hugh is a member of the ACHPER Queensland board and ACHPER Australia Health Promoting Schools Committee.
Dr. Louise McCuaig, Matthew Flinders Anglican College
Louise currently serves as Head of Flinders Discovery Institute at Matthew Flinders Anglican College. For over 30 years, she has been an educator in Queensland schools and universities. Louise’s research on health literacy and salutogenesis underpinned the development of the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education and Queensland Senior Health Syllabus.
