Tennis has a long standing relationship with ACHPER and we are proud to continue to support all Australian Schools with the delivery of sustainable programs. In developing opportunities for the education sector, teachers and their students have been at the forefront of our programs, competitions and professional learning design.
Aligning to the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education (AC:HPE), our Tennis for Primary Schools and Secondary Schools Partnership Programs have educative purpose and support teachers with student achievement standards from band Foundation to Year 10. Using the Game Sense Approach (GSA) teachers are presented with curriculum resources containing games, variations and scaled challenge points to assist students in developing confidence and competence in a meaningful way.
In addition to the Partnership Programs, Tennis also offers schools a range of competition and playing opportunities including:
- Play Program – supporting schools to deliver playing opportunities for students and assists in transitioning students into playing the game or competitive situations
- ANZ Tennis Hot Shots School Competition – Primary school students representing their school in team based competition through inter school or gala day events
- Australian Schools Tennis Challenge – Secondary school students representing their school in team based competition at a national event
Tennis also continues to offer professional learning support to teachers through face to face practical workshops or online content. For a full list of upcoming workshops please visit here. To access online support please visit the online platform Bounce and create an account (if not already registered).
